“KSTAR is an enlightening and refreshing experience. The nurse coaches are excellent communicators and do a great job of ensuring that the participant feels supported in each step of the program. My clinical confidence has been restored."
“Overall, this experience was beneficial to the remainder of my nursing career. It was a humbling experience.”
“I cannot begin to express what this program meant to me and my nursing career. From the notice of the allegations against my license to the agreed board order to complete the KSTAR program, I was left feeling overwhelmed and unsure of my future in nursing. I was initially overwhelmed with all the emails and everything, but the KSTAR staff was with me all the way through, and Ms. Miller especially was so patient with my questions and concerns. I have nothing but gratitude for this program, and I am beyond relieved to know that this is an option for nurses. It was difficult, but not impossible to complete the program. For future nurses participating in this program, I just want to say that it can be done. It will seem scary in the beginning but know that you have help and that you are not alone. It was the best thing that could have happened to me, and I will take everything that I learned from this experience except for the situation that brought me to KSTAR. Good luck to those participating in the future, and to all of the KSTAR staff, thank you for helping me get back on my feet.”
“The staff are extremely knowledgeable and willing to answer questions and provide feedback. The debriefing section of the in-person situation was especially insightful, as it challenges participants to reframe our thinking and justify all interventions.”
“Such an amazing program, everyone was so helpful and kind. All the information sent was helpful for all the tests and simulation I had to do. Will recommend to anyone that needs to do this. Thank you for everything!”
“If not for the reason KSTAR Nursing program was set up, I would have said it is a program every nurse needs to experience to sharpen their knowledge and skills. I am proud to be a KSTAR graduate. The program opened my eyes to a wide range of knowledge and skills which have helped tremendously in providing quality care to patients and have put me in a place where colleagues come to me for information on quality care.”
“For nurses who will be participating in the KSTAR program, do not focus on the circumstances that brought you to KSTAR, be assured that what you will gain from the program will take you to higher knowledge and skills that will set you apart in practice. TRY TO LEARN NEW THINGS FROM EVERY TASK AND ACTIVITY FOR THE PURPOSE OF IMPROVING YOURSELF AND PRACTICE, NOT JUST TO COMPLETE THE PROGRAM. YOU WILL BE HAPPY YOU WENT THROUGH IT. GOOD LUCK!”
