Biography
Melissa Lackey serves as the Director of Technical Assistance at the Texas A&M Rural and Community Health Institute. She oversees the operational and financial management resources provided to rural hospitals through the multi-disciplinary Rural Engagement Program. Together with her team, she works collaboratively with rural hospitals and rural health experts to identify and address challenges that impact hospital performance and viability. Prior to this, she held a similar leadership role within the Center for Optimizing Rural Health and served as a program manager for ARCHI's behavioral health services. She holds a Master of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Texas at Arlington. Melissa has over 30 years of healthcare experience that includes women’s health services, behavioral health, quality and safety, and population and rural health.
