With over 20 years of diverse experience in healthcare, Krystal has a strong foundation in patient care, medical coordination, and quality improvement initiatives. Born and raised in a rural community, she has always had a deep appreciation for the challenges and unique healthcare needs faced by underserved populations. This background has shaped her approach to patient care and fueled her commitment to improving access to healthcare in all communities.
Krystal began her career as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) in family practice and behavioral health, building a strong foundation in patient care and clinical operations. She later advanced into leadership roles, including Team Lead for an FQHC care coordination program, where she supported quality measure compliance, pre-visit planning, Medicare Wellness visits, and improved patient outcomes through interdisciplinary collaboration. Krystal also served for several years as a Vaccine Coordinator, overseeing immunization programs, ensuring guideline compliance, and advancing community vaccination efforts through patient education and public health initiatives.
