The KSTAR Team Communication Course is a one-day program designed for physicians, nurses, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, dentists, podiatrists, and any other health care professionals who seek to improve their communication skills. This course is designed to address provider-provider communications. TeamSTEPPS principles form the foundation of this course. TeamSTEPPS, was created by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), and is an evidence-based set of teamwork tools, aimed at optimizing patient outcomes by improving communication and teamwork skills. Individuals may take this course, and the KSTAR team can also individualize the curriculum to meet the needs of an intact team.
CME Credit
The Texas A&M Health Science Center Coastal Bend Health Education Center (CBHEC) is accredited by the Texas Medical Association to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
TAMHSC CBHEC designates this live educational activity for a maximum of (8.25) AMA PRA Category 1 CreditTM. Physicians should only claim the credit commensurate- rate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
