Bio

Bob Rakov, MD is a board-certified family physician. He serves as the Medical Director for the Physician Peer Review Program at the A& M Rural and Community Health Institute (ARCHI) where he oversees case review for Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Pediatrics, Obstetrics, Orthopedic Surgery, General Surgery and Emergency Medicine.  Dr. Rakov has nearly 30 years of clinical practice experience and was a US Air Force Flight Surgeon. He received his Doctor of Medicine degree from SUNY Medical Center in Syracuse, NY, and completed his residency training at UPMC St Margaret Family Medicine Residency in Pittsburgh, PA in 1989.  After serving in the Air Force in South Korea, Japan, and Hawaii, Dr. Rakov completed a fellowship in OB and Rural Medicine at Tacoma Family Medicine, Tacoma Washington.  He has spent 20 years practicing the full spectrum of Family Medicine in rural West Texas. Dr. Rakov is active in the ARCHI Physician Peer Review Program as a facilitator and plays a leadership role in its ongoing development and national expansion.
